Uses RGB Spectrum's 4View quad window display processor
Discriminating Chicagoland sports fans know the spot to catch all the action, the popular RAM Restaurant and Brew House in Rosemont, Illinois. To provide its customers with maximum sports entertainment value, the RAM Restaurant and Brew House decided to equip the bar with the latest audio visual technology.

The RAM Restaurant and Brew House enlisted the A/V technology expertise of integrator Sound Vision Inc. to design and install the new system. According to Thomas Allison, Systems Sales Consultant for Sound Vision, "RAM Restaurant and Brew House management's objective was to offer sports enthusiasts a premier sports bar experience with state-of-the-art audio visual technology that delivers captivating, superior quality images."

RGB Spectrum's 4View quad window display processor lets sports-craving fans catch all the action at Chicagoland's popular RAM Restaurant and Brew House

Allison continued, "The design goal was to display a number of sporting events and broadcast programming with higher image quality than what standard monitors offer. We selected RGB Spectrum's 4View multiple window display processor because it provided a better alternative than a traditional video wall concept. The 4View processor displays up to four video images simultaneously on a single screen."

The 4View processor supports up to eight video inputs which can be bank switched for display in groups of four. The 4View processor receives S-Video signals from a total of thirteen sources fed through an AutoPatch matrix switcher. These sources include ten DirecTV digital satellite receivers, one SVHS VCR, and two multi-disc DVD players. Visuals consist of an extensive variety of national and local sporting events, ESPN and ESPN2, CNN, news, and local programming.

The 4View processor outputs these combined images to a Sanyo PLC-XP ceiling-mounted LCD projector in 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution for display on the 6-foot high by 8-foot wide screen. The 4View offers quad mode display and full screen display of any desired input. Pub staff generally set the 4View to display four simultaneous sporting events. Championship and other key sporting events are displayed full screen. Pub staff select the desired input sources and display configuration using a simple to operate AMX touch panel controller.

The 4View processor displays four video inputs at full resolution at up to 1280 x 1024p or 1600 x 1200i pixels, for better visual quality than traditional video quads, which display each video signal at only 25% of true resolution. Various models offer NTSC/PAL composite, component, S-Video, and SDI (CCIR 601) digital video inputs. In addition to high resolution RGB output, a full time auxiliary NTSC video output is available to connect to a codec for video teleconferencing and distance learning applications. For 16:9 screens, the 4-View 100 offers a wide screen mode with one large video window plus 3 stacked windows on the side.
